Rental Investing
Get Real Real Estate Investing
Show 13 - Rental Investing
After a few weeks of trying to get it done I finally found time to get the beginnings to a new website completed. It
is done enough to get to and to get to the show but not much else. We are working on getting together a collection of
articles to make available. We do have some useful links and a handful real estate investing resources there. When
you get a chance it is www.getrealrei.com.
This weeks mail
Jason sent us a suggestion to follow up with last weeks topics on lease options. He provided another
way to structure the terms to create a more advantageous tax situation.
Carlos asked that we get a 1031 exchange expert to explain the ins and outs of this tool.
interview
Rob Howard was kind enough to join us and tell us about how he invests in rental homes. Rob is a realtor from
Knoxville, TN who helps other investors find homes. When he isn’t busy doing that he also purchases homes for
himself and his wife. We had a good conversation about the basics of what he does. Rob broke it down and
put it in real terms for all of us to understand.
You can contact Rob at his website www.robsellsknoxville.com
Tip of the Week - Get the word out
If you are looking for an inexpensive way to find leads and investors for your real estate investing addiction, I mean business,
then let others know. When you meet someone new let them know what you do. The results are three fold.
- Helps you find private investors.
- Helps you find people looking to sell.
- Allows someone who needs help with their housing to reach out to someone they trust.
What we did this week - direct mail

Direct mail to others is not free but it can be long lasting. We recieved a letter from an attorney who is selling property for
a client. This in itself is not that unusual. The interesting part is that we didn’t contact the attorney. He was referred from
another attorney who we sent a mailing to nearly a year ago.
Website of the week
Realty Times - Realty Times is a resource for realtors to stay up to date on market trends and marketing
residential properties. Since we are in that game also why not think outside of the box and see what
people doing this everyday are doing to get the job done.
